all these new things!

I don't get it. These new colors and new fonts. Blogger is getting complicated [well not really] ...I think I'm just not good at adapting to change. I'm not much of a computer person, eventhough I'm stuck in front of my computer for a large part of the day.

There are these cool foods here. I miss the foods from America, and yet trying all these new foods is way cool. There are a lot of little Japanese candies that taste good but are soooo small. I guess I am Americanized. It's all about quantity. More more More!

Sorry I haven't posted in a while, but I haven't felt the need to.  For some reason being far away makes me wonder what the heck anyone would care about what I'm doing over here.  I mean we all are a tad bit selfish eh?? Then if I'm here and not there, then my actions shouldn't affect anyone over there yonder should they?
 
Well I've been reading a lot, and I love it.  I go to the 3-story Starbucks and sit there for a couple of hours with my cousins and just read.  While they check out the people walking on the streets.  I've been working and tutoring.  It's a lot harder and rewarding than anyone ever lets you know.  I guess it's true that teaching is a 24 hour job if you really put your heart into it.
 
For now though, I'm going CD and DVD bargain shopping while sipping my coffee and reading.  Haha.  Well that's not all I do here, but that's when I enjoy myself the most. Much love to joo mon.

The funny thing is...when you have guava fat and sweet cheeks mixed together. Everything tastes dandy. Just jolly gued.

It adds to things when you can't talk about it to anyone. I think i'm going to have a lot stuck inside of me. I guess you can say my heart is gonna burst.

So...let's talk politics.

Well honestly, I don't know that much about politics here, but honestly the country seems stable to me. My question for the people in China is, why do they feel they need to have Taiwan be apart of their country? Things here are very capitalistic, although the rich do get richer and poor do get poorer. But that's the way capitalism works.

My impression of how the establishment of Taiwan came about is probably different than XD's, seeing as how my parents are from Taiwan and my grandparents came over here during the Taonan [er whatever you call it....cultural revolution we'll say]. I've heard countless stories.

There were those with different beliefs, just like 2 political parties. The ones who believed whatever the heck the Taiwanese people believed ran, and they all ran to this island. The rest who either agreed with this new government or had no choice, stayed. So in my mind, I don't understand why Taiwan must stay apart of China.

It seems as though XD's point of view is like the point of view of those in the Union. They felt that although the South had different views and ideas that they began as one country, and thus should stay as one country. Now Adam's point was to compare Taiwan and China to the great US vs. the proud England.

Either way...what we say has no effect on reality. So let's just all be friends and sing Kumbaya.

The thought of being more lonely when more people are around makes sense to me.

I kind of lost the control over my life that I previously had, and yet in other ways I have more freedoms. More time to myself....atleast in my head. Things can be clear at times, and at other times the complications are overwhelming with the addition of so many people into the mix of things.

You know that feeling you get when you let go of a balloon by accident? That weird surge in your stomach? That's how I felt when I walked through those gates alone, looking back at my family with my mom waving good bye.

Well it's time to eat lunch. I hope you all are enjoying a nice sleep.
